A buyer needs to know which business relationships can continue after you leave. Fresno Business Brokers Prime connects owners with a valuation partner to discuss that transferability alongside the earnings.

Build a private contract register

List the agreement type, renewal date, responsible employee and any change of control or assignment provision. Have your attorney review the wording rather than deciding from a contract label alone.

Include important supplier, distributor, customer and property agreements. A relationship that has operated informally for years still needs an honest explanation.

Separate concentration from certainty

Show revenue by customer in the private review file. A large recurring account may support earnings, but losing it could also have a disproportionate effect on the business.

Explain whether different buying locations really make independent decisions. Several invoices do not necessarily mean several independent customers.

Control when identities are shared

Begin the initial valuation request with basic business details. Discuss confidentiality and appropriate access before sending customer names, pricing or sensitive agreements.

Do not contact customers about a potential sale without an agreed plan. Premature announcements can create uncertainty while a buyer still has the option to walk away.

Make the handover concrete

Identify introductions and approvals that would be needed before or after closing. Put responsibility, timing and any seller assistance into the transaction discussion instead of leaving them implied.
